South Side of Maui Locations

If you're staying on Maui's South Side in Kihei or Wailea, please have a look at some of my favorite locations I've scouted in the area and see if they fit the vibe you're going for.

Sugar Beach

Sugar Beach, also called Maalaea Beach is very centrally located. I personally love going here for its amazing views in every direction. You can't go wrong with which way I point the camera. You have the West Maui Mountains on one side, and Haleakala on the other, with the ocean in between.

Kam I, II, or III

Are you staying in the heart of Kihei? This is the perfect option for you! Family or Couple sessions are perfect. We will have plenty of space to spread out from the other beach goers.

Keawakapu Beach

Keawakapu is nice and central. I love going here as there is lots of options for parking and a long stretch of sandy beach.

Ulua Beach

If you're staying close to the Andaz or Marriot in Wailea this is a wonderful location for you. Gorgeous beaches with a tropical scenery. Surrounded by palm trees and the ocean.

Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach is convenient for those staying at The Grand Wailea or Four Seasons. Perfect location that gives you that feel of being in Hawaii.

Po'olenalena Beach

Also referred to as Changs Beach. This beach is a long golden sandy beach with gorgeous views of Molokini, and Ko'olawe. This is a great sunset location if you're on the south side.

Oneuli Beach

This is one of my favorite hidden gems to stop at. It is known for its black and red sand and clear blue water there. There is something so special and dramatic about the tall back on the cinder cone of Makena.

Makena Cove

Makena Cove is also referred to as Secret Beach. This is a secluded cove of white sandy beach, volcanic rock, and palm trees. If you want to all to your selves, the best time to go is in the morning. As its a popular sunset spot for visitors.
